Supplies

~ Worsted weight yarn, 4-ply, any color you want

~ Size 8 (5 mm) knitting needles

~ Crochet Hook (for size see the tutorial below)

~ 240 Pony Beads, any color(s) you want

~ Stitch holder

~ Yarn needle

~ 2 small buttons

~ Sewing needle and thread; only needed if the holes of the buttons you choose are too small to be sewn on with the knitting yarn and the yarn needle

Abbreviations

~ st - stitch

~ sts - stitches

~ k - knit

~ p - purl

~ abkst - add a bead and then knit the stitch

~ abpst - add a bead and then purl the stitch

~ k2tog - knit two stitches together

~ yo - yarn over

~ garter sts - knit all rows

Beaded Sweater

Hello, doll friends!

Not long ago Josefina asked for a red sweater to wear with the skirt of her meet outfit, but she also wanted something extra added to it, so Mama came up with a beaded pattern. The sweater itself is based on the pattern she used to make the Basic Long Knitted Sweater, but it has the extra pizzazz because of all the white beads that were worked into it. The instructions will show you how to add beads to your knitting, and it's a lot easier than it might look 😉

Didn't it turn out beautifully? Beads are everywhere! Josefina loves it, and proudly wears it with her meet skirt and a pair of white boots.

Here is the back of it. More beads and two small white buttons finish off a special sweater for a special girl 😊

We have some very special news today! Our sister Maria, who went away for a while has finally returned home, and we're so happy to have her back! *

* The first Maria, an Our Generation Abril doll, was donated and sent to the EMS Buddy Group on Facebook, which gifts dolls, doll clothes, and accessories to children with life-threatening illnesses. The new Maria (American Girl Truly Me #82) is taking her place, and we just pretend that she went on a trip, and has finally arrived back home 😊

My Life As 2021 Halloween Costumes

These three adorable Halloween costumes come from the My Life As line, which is exclusively sold at Walmart. They are part of the brand's Halloween line for 2021.

Hiedra is wearing the Orange & Black Witch Costume. It consists of a dress with a high-low hemline, and is made out of a shiny, satin-like fabric in orange, green, and black.

Green ribbons criss-cross over the bodice, and another ribbon is attached around the waistline, tied into a bow in the front. The sides of the bodice are held in black, while the middle part as well as the sleeves are kept in orange, giving the appearance of a vest over the dress. The neckline is decorated with a slightly lighter green ribbon.

The skirt part is held in wide orange and green stripes, and has a sparkly orange tulle overlay. The inside of the skirt is lined in black. The dress closes in the back with velcro.

Another part of the costume is a black pointed hat, made out of thick felt. The ribbon with bow from the waist of the dress repeats itself here directly over the hat brim. An attached black elastic holds the hat in place on the doll's head.

Josefina is wearing the Black & Pink Cat Costume. It consists of a dress, which is made out of a soft velvet fabric in black and pink.

A white winking cat face is printed onto the front of the bodice, and pink and black cat ears decorate the upper part of the bodice, close to the neckline. The neckline and the sleeve cuffs are held in a black faux fur fabric. The skirt part is lined on the inside with a pink shiny satin fabric. A pink ribbon with a bow in the front decorates the waistline. The dress closes in the back with velcro.

Another part of the costume are pink, black, and green spotted tights, which look similar to a leopard design, as well as a black headband with pink and black cat ears.

A black tail is sewn to the back of the skirt part, made out of the same velvet material as the dress.

Luciana is wearing the Rainbow Unicorn Costume. It consists of a dress, which is made out of multiple colorful fabrics.

Velvet fabric in the colors pink, purple, teal, yellow, and orange form the bodice. There is a sparkly ribbon around the hem of the arm openings, and the little cap sleeves are made out of white tulle with sparkly multi-colored stars.

The skirt part is made out of an organza-type fabric, and the same colors as in the bodice were used; however, they sort of bleed into each other, which is a very nice touch. The same tulle that was used for the cap sleeves also layers the skirt. The dress closes in the back with velcro.

Attached to the bodice is a white hood, made out of velvet fabric, which has the Unicorn ears and horn attached. The horn is pink and the ears are white and pink. The hood has an opening in the back, which allows for the doll's hair to be pulled through.

Along with the dress come a pair of pink sparkly tights.

Here is a picture of the back of the hood, which shows the opening for the hair. This is really helpful for dolls with long hair.

We're very happy to add these adorable costumes to our closet, and look forward to wearing them again in the years to come.

Shoes - Sneakers

Here are all the sneakers we own. I am keeping this post as a running list; meaning it will be added to as we get more sneakers.

None of these shoes belong to any outfits, but were purchased separately. Any sneakers that belong to outfits or collections will be shown together with the outfit instead of here.

2021 Winter Princess Ornament

She is called the Winter Princess, and is modeled after one of the Winter Princess dolls American Girl brought out as limited editions for the 2021 holiday season. The real doll has Swarovski crystals on her dress, but the ornament has little rhinestones as well as glitter on her dress and shoes instead. She comes in this beautiful display box, and is safely secured with string and foam strips

2020 Nutcracker Land of the Sweets Ornament

She has real Swarovski Crystals attached to the ribbon on her waist as well as the ribbon around her head. She comes in this beautiful collector's keepsake box

She is safely secured just like a real American Girl doll with string and foamy material around her limbs to prevent the strings from damaging her

Here she is, out of the box. Isn't she beautiful? They definitely did an amazing job with her. We love everything about her!

We wanted to show her from the back as well, so you can see just how perfect she is all the way around

Fashion Accessories For Dolls

 

This adorable accessories set was manufactured by Mattel for American Girl.

The set consists of:

~ 1 fedora hat

~ 1 beaded necklace

The fedora is made to look like a straw hat. It features a hat band in the colors purple, pink, fuchsia, coral, light green, and light blue, which repeat itself around the entire hat. The same color arrangement is also used in a smaller band around the brim of the hat. A red star, the logo of American Girl, is stamped on the right side of the fedora.

The necklace is made out of flat coral beads, as well as round yellow beads. The beads are strung onto a fuchsia colored string, and a tassel in the same color is added to the middle in the front, separating one half of the coral and yellow beads from the other. The necklace closes with a slide-clasp in the back.

Due to the many colors represented in the bands around the hat, as well as the more neutral tones of the necklace, these accessories can be used with many different outfits. 😊

Baby Doll Outfit From Missy Hunter Dunlap

We are beginning to really branch out into the world of independent sellers on Facebook, etsy, and ebay because not only are these outfits made with lots of love and care by an individual, but also because they take us away from mass production, and oftentimes they are either OOAK (one-of-a-kind), or not many of them are available, which makes them more rare and special. 

The sweet outfit shown below is one of them. This cute Baby Doll outfit comes from Missy Hunter Dunlap, who's group page called Dottie Jo Sews can be found on Facebook.

Let's check it out. I am your model this time:

The Baby Doll outfit consists of a sleeveless tunic, bloomers, as well as a kerchief to tie around the doll's head. The tunic is made out of a light green fabric, featuring little ivy-style plants and blossoms. This makes this outfit perfect for me, because my name Hiedra (pronounced "Yedra") translates to Ivy from Spanish, and my favorite colors are green and blue 😊

The working heart-shaped pockets of the tunic are made out of an off-white fabric with a floral design matching the green of the tunic. Around the hem of the neck and the armholes a delicate yellow lace trim was sewn. The tunic fastens in the back with matching green snap buttons.

Here is a view of the cute little bloomers, that are made out of the same material as the tunic pockets, and also feature the yellow lace around the leg hems. The bloomers are cut in a generous size to make them puffy. An elastic is sewn into the legs to puff the bottoms up into a ruffle, and the waist also features an elastic band.

This is a picture of the back, showing the kerchief, which is also made out of the same fabric as the pockets and the bloomers. Here you can also see my beautiful hair 😉

And this is a view of the back of the tunic, to show you the beautifully matching green snap buttons.

Outfits from Oma's Boutique

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since we last posted, but we're finally back around.

Today we would like to show you a few beautiful outfits Mama got for us over the past couple of months. They all come from a very sweet lady on Facebook, who has a shop called Oma's Boutique. Click on the shop name to go there and to check her amazing creations out!

Let's look at a few pictures:

The first outfit includes a beautifully machine embroidered blouse, which has elastic at the top as well as at the sleeve hems. The blouse is easy to slip on and off. Make sure to click on the picture to make it bigger, so you can really see the beautifully detailed embroidery. Along with the blouse come a pair of leggings, made out of knit fabric, featuring an adorable multi-colored heart design that has glitter around each heart. The leggings have an elastic waist.

The next item is a cute tiered skirt made out of a flower-print fabric. The skirt has an elastic waist. Due to the variation of many colors, the skirt can be combined with many different tops.

We also got these adorable kitty shoes, which Oma's Boutique made for us as well. Here you can also see a close-up of the leggings.

This is the back of the kitty shoes. Aren't they just so cute?

Luciana absolutely loves this outfit! It includes the same style blouse as mentioned above, minus the embroidery. What you can't really see in the pictures is that the blouse has a tiny leaf print all over, which really looks amazing! The fabric of the romper has white and several shades of pink arranged in a tie-dye pattern with little black paw prints all over. The back closes with velcro.

Another romper we received is this stunning piece! It also came with the same blouse as before, but the romper with this set has a flared skirt. It also closes with velcro in the back. One thing we love so much about it is that the color and the stars printed on the fabric remind us of the logo and coloring of the American Girl brand.

We are so happy with these new additions to our closet, and highly recommend that you check Oma's Boutique out! She makes other items aside from doll clothes as well, so there is really something for everyone to be found.

Rompers From Molly's Dolly

Today we would like to show you two new rompers Mama got for us recently. The red one inspired the Minnie Mouse hat Mama then knitted for us, which you can find HERE.

The rompers come from missmolly-29, who has a shop on ebay, but you can also find her on Facebook under the name Mollys Dolly. Her mom is the fantastic and extremely talented seamstress.

Let's look at a few pictures:

Here, we are modeling the rompers, and it's not hard to see how much fun we had during this photo shoot

The first one is red with little white polka dots, a white hem, as well as a white sailor-style collar that features a red zigzag ribbon. The romper ends about mid-thigh. The pants part is roomy, which allows for easy and free movement and sitting without restrictions. The waistband has elastic in it, which gives it a perfect fit. The fabric is fantastic; high quality and sewn to perfection!

The second romper is made out of a light blue material, which features multi-colored polka dots in different sizes, and is fashioned exactly like the first one; the only difference is the collar, which is made in a more rounded style, and as an adorable addition has a little pink My Little Pony button in the front. The material for this romper is also high quality and sewn perfectly.

Here we are showing you the back of the rompers, which feature velcro that goes almost all the way down the back of the outfit, which allows for easy dressing and undressing.

It goes without saying that we are absolutely thrilled with these rompers. This was the first time ever that Mama bought us clothes from an independent seller, and it will definitely not be the last time!
