Spring Flared Sweater For American Girl Dolls

Hello, everyone!

Mama was busy again, and this time she knitted a beautiful coat for us!

It's called Spring Flared Sweater For American Girl Dolls and is made from a pattern by Janet Longaphie, who has uploaded it on ravelry. The instructions can be found HERE.

Mama used the following yarn: Red Heart Super Saver Ombre in the color Sea Coral. Of course you can use any yarn you like.

Here are some pictures:

This is the front of the coat. You can see how the colors change from lighter to darker or vise versa.

And here is a view of the back. Mama did not plan to make the back in the darker shade or the front in the lighter shades. This was pure fate!

Along with this coat Mama also made a beret as well as a pom pom ears beanie.

Bumble Bee Dress

Hello, everyone!

Today I would like to show you another outfit Mama crocheted for us. Just in time for Halloween we have a beautiful costume 😊

This cute outfit is called the Bumble Bee Dress, and was made from a pattern by Adoring Doll Clothes. You can find the instructions HERE.

The set consists of a a dress, a pair of legwarmers, and a hat. The entire outfit is crochet.

I decided to wear it for Halloween 2020, and here you can see me modeling it together with my jack-o-lantern candy bucket, as well as with several pumpkins we got for decoration.

Mama is a member of the Adoring Doll Clothes group on Facebook, and the owner, Pamela, did a Halloween 2020 costume contest, in which the members could participate by crocheting and having their dolls wear one of the many beautiful outfits Pamela created for her website.

Mama decided to make the bumble bee dress, and submitted my picture above, where I'm holding the candy bucket.

Guess what?

We won!!! 😍

Pamela made a video with all of the entries and winner, and Mama linked it on her Facebook. If you want to take a look, Mama's post with the video is right HERE.

And to top it all off, we were sent some absolutely amazing prizes for winning! Let me show you:

We received this totally adorable Halloween bag, which was full of all kinds of goodies; everything Halloween themed.

Inside the bag was a card, three skeins of yarn, two cups, stickies, two pairs of socks (ankle length and knee length), two kitchen towels, two notepads, two pens, a door hanger, a wall decoration, an infinity scarf, a little ghost figure, candy corn, lollipops, and candy bracelets.

So many awesome things! We all were simply blown away by Pamela's generosity!

Baking Chef

Doll-Sized Pet Bed

Hello again, doll friends!

Mama was busy again and made a doggie bed for Teddy and Stella 😀 At first she wanted to make one for each dog, but once we saw the size of it, we decided that one bed would be plenty for both of them, especially since they love to sleep all cuddled up anyway 😊

Please note that the pet bed was made from a pattern Mama found online, and I will post the link for it, so you can give proper credit if you decide to make one for your doggies or kitties, too.

Stella: "It's a bed! Hurry Teddy! Come up here and check this out!"

It doesn't take long until they're both comfortable and ready for a doggie nap.

Doll Clothes Hangers

Hello, doll friends!

To go along with the closet I showed you in a previous post, Mama also made hangers for our clothes. They are very simple and easy to make.

Inspiration for the hangers came from Pinterest.

Mama's instructions are below. You do not need to credit us or link back to this page if you choose to make these hangers for yourself, since we only borrowed the idea from a wide variety of similar projects on Pinterest ourselves.

Supplies

~ Plastic baby/toddler clothes hangers

~ Small hand saw, pruning shears, or other cutting tool (I used pruning shears)

~ Sandpaper, or alternatively....and probably much easier....a clothes iron or flat iron, as well as baking paper (wax paper)

Instructions

~ With your cutting tool, cut off the hangers a tiny bit below the small hooks as shown in the picture above.

~ Use the sandpaper to smooth the cut edges as much as possible.

~ OR....and this is most likely the easier method....place a small piece of baking paper (wax paper) over the cut edges, and carefully melt the plastic with a clothes iron or flat iron to smooth it out.

~ You're done! See how easy that was? And it's a LOT cheaper then buying doll hangers. 😀

Crochet Vanity Puff
