~ Sew the last opening closed

~ Sew ear to the side of the hat

Bow

* Please note: The bow is optional. You might like your hat better without it, especially if you make the hat for a boy doll *

~ With red yarn cast on 21 sts

~ Rows 1 - 20 - work in seed st

~ Cast off

~ Weave in all ends

~ Fold your knitted piece length-wise in accordion style

~ Put a long string on your yarn needle and sew a few stitches through the entire thickness in the middle of the bow to secure it; then wrap the yarn around the middle section several times while pulling it tight. To finish it off, tie it in a double knot in the back of the bow

~ Attach the bow to the front of the hat, in between the ears
