Doll Play Suit Pattern & pdf File

You will find the written pattern below. If you prefer to download the FREE pdf file, you can find it at these two places:

First Version play suit

Second Version play suit

Supplies

~ Worsted weight yarn, 4-medium, any two colors you choose

~ Size 8 (5 mm) knitting needles (circular needles are best for this pattern)

~ Stitch holder

~ Yarn needle

~ 2 small buttons

~ Sewing needle and thread; only needed if the holes of the buttons you choose are too small to be sewn on with the knitting yarn and the yarn needle

Abbreviations

~ st - stitch

~ sts - stitches

~ k - knit

~ p - purl

~ k2tog - knit two stitches together

~ p2tog - purl two stitches together

~ yo - yarn over

~ stockinette sts - knit one row, purl one row

~ garter sts - knit all rows

~ kfb - knit front and back

~ pfkb - purl front, knit back

~ MC - main color

~ CC - contrast color

Notes

~ For this particular pattern I suggest using circular needles, since it will be easier to place the legs next to each other before knitting them together and forming the body

~ The front and back of the doll play suit are worked from the bottom up. You will start with one leg, add the second leg, and knit them together, working upwards to the body. The sleeves are added on.

~ In order to add any of the words to the front of the play suit you need to know how to work the duplicate stitch. If you are not familiar with this method, please look up a tutorial.

~ I made two versions of the play suit that differ in regards to the color changes of the neck and shoulders. You can see them both in the pictures above. The patterns for both versions are included below.
