Supplies
~ Red Heart Super Saver Ombre, color: Sea Coral
~ Size 8 (5 mm) knitting needles
~ Yarn needle

Abbreviations
~ st - stitch
~ sts - stitches
~ K - knit
~ P - purl
~ inc. - increase
~ stockinette sts - knit one row, purl one row
~ st2tog - stitch two stitches together
~ K2tog - knit two stitches together
Instructions
~ Cast on 40 sts
~ Rows 1-3 - Work in ribs
~ Row 4 - *K 4, inc. 1*, repeat 10 times = 50 sts
~ Rows 5-20 - Work in stockinette sts; row 5 is P
~ Row 21 - *P 3, st2tog*, repeat until row end = 40 sts
~ Row 22 - *K 2, st2tog*, repeat until row end = 30 sts
~ Row 23 - *P 1, st2tog*, repeat until row end = 20 sts
~ Row 24 - *K2tog*, repeat until row end = 10 sts
~ Cut long string, thread onto yarn needle
~ Pull yarn needle with string through 10 remaining sts
~ Pull tight to close
~ Sew back seam closed
~ Make two small pompoms, fasten to two opposite sides of cap
~ Alternatively, you could make one pompom and fasten it to the top of the beanie, or you could simply eliminate the pompoms altogether
~ Weave in all ends
