Supplies
~ Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo Worsted Weight Yarn, color: Blacklight
~ Size 8 (5.00 mm) knitting needles
~ Yarn needle
* Of course you don't have to use the yarn I used, and you can change to any other Worsted Weight Yarn, 4-medium you choose. *
Stitches Used
~ Rib (knit 2, purl 2)
~ Garter stitch (knit all rows)
~ Knit front and back (increases count by one stitch)
Abbreviations
~ sts - stitches
~ k - knit
~ kfb - knit front and back
~ k2tog - knit 2 stitches together
Instructions
~ Cast on 40 sts
~ Row 1-3 - rib
(From now on the beanie is worked in garter stitches)
~ Row 4 - k 1 st, kfb 1 st, repeat to end of row = 59 sts
~ Row 5 - k across to end of row
~ Row 6 - k 1 st, kfb 1 st, repeat to end of row = 89 sts
~ Row 7-12 - work in garter sts
~ Row 13 - k 7 sts, k2tog, repeat to end of row = 80 sts
~ Row 14 - k across to end of row
~ Row 15 - k 6 sts, k2tog, repeat to end of row = 70 sts
~ Row 16 - k across to end of row
~ Row 17 - k 5 sts, k2tog, repeat to end of row = 60 sts
~ Row 18 - k across to end of row
~ Row 19 - k 4 sts, k2tog, repeat to end of row = 50 sts
~ Row 20 - k across to end of row
~ Row 21 - k 3 sts, k2tog, repeat to end of row = 40 sts
~ Row 22 - k across to end of row
~ Row 23 - k 2 sts, k2tog, repeat to end of row = 30 sts
~ Row 24 - k across to end of row
~ Row 25 - k 1 st, k2tog, repeat to end of row = 20 sts
~ Row 26 - k2tog, repeat to end of row = 10 sts
~ Leave a tail, cut yarn, thread yarn onto yarn needle, and pull through 10 sts on knitting needle. Slide knitting needle out, and pull yarn tight to close.
~ Sew back seam closed
~ Make a small pompom, fasten to top of beanie
~ Weave in all ends
