Back
~ Cast on 50 sts
~ Rows 1-5 - rib
~ Rows 6-31 - work in stockinette sts; begin row 6 with p
~ Row 32-33 - dec 3 sts at beginning of both rows (forming arm holes)
~ Rows 34-44 - stockinette sts
~ Row 45 - k 13 sts - leave on needle, cast off 18 sts, k 13 sts - leave on needle (forming neck edge)
~ Row 46 - p first 13 sts
~ Row 47 - k first 13 sts
~ Row 48 - p first 13 sts
~ Cast off first 13 sts
~ Join yarn at neck edge
~ Row 46 - p second 13 sts
~ Row 47 - k second 13 sts

Collar
~ Cast on 30 sts
(Start casting on with knitted jacket side (right side) facing you. Begin at the right front with the stitch directly above the button band, go up and around the back neckline, and then go down to the last stitch directly above the left front button band)
~ Rows 1-5 - rib
(From here on collar is worked in garter stitch)
~ Row 6 - kfb 1 st, k across to last st, kfb 1 st = 32 sts
~ Row 7 - k across to end of row
~ Repeat rows 6 and 7 until you have 44 sts
~ Cast off
~ Weave in all ends
~ Sew 3 buttons to left front button band
